Christopher L. “Chris” Hayes is the host of All In With Chris Hayes on MSNBC. An awesome liberal, He is never afraid to report the truth and take on conservatives. At the age of 34, Hayes was the youngest host of a prime-time cable news show in the United States.

Personal Life

Hayes was born New York City in 1979. He received a Bachelor's degree in philosophy from Brown University.

Hayes started out his career as a contributor to The Nation. He has written on issues important to liberals, such as labor rights. He became on contributor for MSNBC, and frequently filled in for Rachel Maddow when she was absent. He had also filled in for Keith Olbermann, Ed Schultz, and Lawrence O'Donnell.

In 2011, Hayes landed his own show, UP with Chris Hayes, a two hour news show that was shown on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The purpose of his show was to give an in-depth analysis of major political issues. His first episode featured an interview with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

In 2013, Hayes was moved to a prime-time 8:00 weekday one-hour news slot. His show, All In With Chris Hayesreplaced The Ed Show, which had moved to weekends. On his new show, he has been able to give coverage of news from a liberal stand-point daily. He has received strong praise from the left for his willingness to adress political issues from a fair, factual stand-point. According to Phil Griffin, president of MSNBC, “He’s an extraordinary talent and has made a strong connection with our audience."

His first book, Twilight of the Elite: America After Meritocracy, was published in 2012. The book adressed how meritocracy has been exploited in America. He discusses driving forces behind many issues facing the world, including the financial crisis, and global warming, which he considers the biggest threat the world is facing.
