Gliese 581 is a star which could support life. There are at several Exoplanets that could harbour life [1] and one of these potentially habitable planets named Gliese 581g is right in the middle of the habitable zone and an excellent candidate for life. [2] The temperature of the surface of a planet depends on Greenhouse gases in its atmosphere as well as the distance from the star the planet orbits so estimates of temperature are partly guesses. Temperature of course varies on different parts of a planet depending on how much starlight (sunlight]] falls on any part. Despite this with several planets in the habitable zone of Gliese 581 there's a high probability that at least one has liquid water somewhere.

Gliese 581 is also a Red dwarf which is a common type of star. Planetary systems like that of Gliese 581 may be common in the Galaxy and the universe. Gliese 581 is about 20 Light years from the Solar System So life could be quite close to us, we don't know yet,
