The Bailiwick of Guernsey is a British Crown Dependency composed of a tiny island in English Channel where few people live.
[Guernsey and the other Channel Islands were] the only British possession occupied by Germany during World War II. English and French are commonly spoken (though use of the latter is declining), and a Norman-French patois survives. [1]
