Clinton named him director of the OMB [Office of Management and Budget] in 1998, and he served in the job until the end of Clinton's second term in 2001. (...) He returned to government as a deputy under Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in 2009. President Barack Obama named him OMB Director in 2010 (...) and he became Obama's White House Chief of Staff in 2012, after which Obama nominated him to be Secretary of the Treasury at the start of his second term. Jack Lew took office on February 27, 2013, the day he was confirmed by the Senate, replacing Timothy Geithner. [1]

Jacob Joseph "Jack" Lew was the 76th United States Secretary of the Treasury under President Barack Obama from 2013 until 2017 until he was succeeded by Steve Mnuchin.

On September 11 2015 (The Fourteenth Anniversary of 9/11) Lew told China to show it is committed to opening its economy to more foreign investment.[2]
