Thomas Jeb Hensarling[1] (born May 29, 1957) is an American politician who has served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Texas's 5th congressional district since 2003 but either has left in 2019. [2] A member of the Republican Party, Hensarling currently chairs the House Financial Services Committee, and has previously served as the chairman of the House Republican Conference from 2011 to 2013.

Conservative position

Hensarling has maintained a conservative voting record: he has consistently voted against pro-choice legislation, stem cell research, same-sex marriage and hate crimes legislation, and consistently supported free trade policies, the PATRIOT Act, and a Constitutional amendment against flag burning (Most people don't like the national flag of their Country burnt but outlawing flag burning restricts Free speech).[3] [4] Hersarling also opposed consumer protection.[2]
