The President of the United States (POTUS), authorized by Article II of the U.S. Constitution, is a person, usually elected by the people, to rule serve as chief executive of the United States of America for four years, then often elected again to serve for four more years. George W. Bush may not have been rightfully elected the first time as Al Gore appears to have received more votes in Florida than Bush and with Florida;s electoral votes would have won the election, see one of the most controversial elections in American history.
