A telescope is a device that collects information from Light or radio waves.

Optical telescopes

An optical telescope is a system of lenses or mirrors that collects light. Optical telescopes make the image from the light collected larger so more details can be seen or photographed. Optical telescopes can show distant scenes on Earth larger. Also when telescopes are pointed at the sky we can see Astronomical objects better and more clearly.

Radio telescopes

Radio telescopes are dishes that collect radio waves. Radio telescopes also help us learn about radio emissions outside the Earth and increase what we know about the Universe.
