Texas is the second largest state in the Union. It is very populous. The capital city is Austin.
Texas has three main demographics, one, a "Latino Beltway" along the south, two, a "Population Zone" in Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin (the most liberal city in Texas), and three, a "Nobody, Nowhere Place," where only a few people live. George W. Bush is from the third. Texas has a high Republican count.
In Texas, if the police don’t like you, especially if your skin color is brown rather than white the police can arrest you for nothing and say it was public intoxication. In the USA presidential elections 2008 Barack Obama had won in large cities like Dallas and Houston in the south of Texas, but the rest of Texans (especially the ones who live in a rural community) voted for John McCain. Texas is part of the Bible Belt.
President John F. Kennedy was brutally murdered by Lee Harvey Oswald on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas, during the beginning of his reelection campaign. Two days later, Oswald was shot to death by a nightclub owner, Jack Ruby, at the Dallas Police Department on November 24, 1963.
Small animals are used as lures to train greyhounds for racing, these animals often have their bones broken so their cries will excite the dogs. Texas is one of the states where this inhuman practise is legal or if it isn't legal the law isn't enforced. The greyhounds are unfortunately treated badly too.
In February 2021 the winter was unudually cold. It wasn't as cold as states like Minnesota regularly are but Republicans who run the state hadn't prepared for cold weather. Power cuts happened and water was in short supply, people died. Ted Cruz decided this was a great time to do a vacation with his family.
